How a lemon law buyback is worked out
A buyback refunds what you paid, minus a charge for the miles you drove. California, Florida and Georgia divide by 120,000, and New Jersey by 100,000, per each state's rule. Pennsylvania takes the smaller of 10 cents a mile or 10% of the price.
